The data collection for the CHE Ranking 2025/26 begins. The new edition of the CHE Ranking will include more than 3,600 degree programmes in German Studies, Romance Studies, Psychology and Educational Science as well as engineering. In addition, the universities were able to register further degree programmes from related subjects for the data collection.

Data is collected on degree programmes at universities, universities of applied sciences and universities of cooperative education.

The individual faculties and departments are currently being asked in a preliminary survey to provide information on the degree programmes to be included in the ranking, including student numbers and, if applicable, the names of the academics. The preliminary survey serves to prepare the surveys of the faculties, students and professors as well as the publication analysis.

The faculty survey, in which detailed information on the faculties and the various degree programmes will be collected, will then start in September.
In November, a survey of professors of all the subjects mentioned will be launched, in which data will be collected on various topics relating to studying and teaching, such as requirement profiles for a degree programme or the promotion of future skills in university teaching.

From the start of the winter semester 2024/25, Bachelor’s and diploma students in the above-mentioned subjects as well as Master’s students in architecture will be contacted by their universities and asked to take part in the student survey. In some subjects, an additional, separate survey of Master’s students will also be conducted from January 2025.

Further information on the various data collection methods used in the CHE Ranking can be found on the CHE Ranking methodology website (German).
